Where can an AI agent find KiCad symbols, footprints and 3D models?

The Adom Wiki hardware catalog gives people and AI agents a shared place to find component design data. A page can include symbols, footprints, 3D models, datasheets and provenance. Asset coverage and installable releases vary by page, so inspect the actual files and supported CAD exports for the part you need.

From part search to a usable library

  1. Search by the exact manufacturer part number and package. Check that the page describes the intended ordering variant.
  2. Inspect the symbol pin mapping, footprint dimensions, available models and their sources. Compare critical details with the manufacturer’s current datasheet.
  3. If the page offers a package release, use its install command: adom-wiki pkg install <owner>/<slug>, replacing the placeholders with that page’s identifier. If it does not, use the available files or CAD exports.
  4. Follow the component’s instructions for adding its files to KiCad’s project libraries. Downloading or installing files alone does not prove that KiCad has registered them.

The Adom Wiki CLI guide documents discovery and installation. Record the version and source used in your design so a teammate can reproduce it.

Share improvements

Keep fixes to pin mappings and footprints attached to their source, with a datasheet reference and a clear explanation. Read sharing electronics with your team for the distinction between page source and installable releases.
