Electrical Engineer

Description

Adom is looking for electrical engineers. Adom is your electronics workbench in the cloud. We need help designing all of the components that will run inside our world. If you love electronics, you've dabbled with them since you were a kid, and you're passionate about manipulating electrons to do your bidding, we want to talk to you.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering (or equivalent), or be able to show proficiency in electronics through a showcase of outstanding projects you've built
  • Familiarity with all aspects of electronics including designing PCBs, knowledge of a broad range of electronic components, and experience with modern microcontrollers such as STM32 and/or RP2350
  • Additional knowledge of power control, motor control, sensor control, artificial intelligence on the edge, image acquisition, I2C, SPI, CAN bus, Ethernet, USB, (or other data bus standards), data acquisition with oscilloscopes, infrared cameras, or radio frequency is preferred
  • Proficiency in Fusion 360 Electronics (EAGLE), KiCad, or Altium
  • Preferably be familiar with other tools that facilitate best practice workflows for creating electronics

Mechanical Engineer

Adom is looking for mechanical engineers. With Adom being your electronics workbench in the cloud, we will need mechanical engineers to help bring the vision to life. If you are passionate about CAD and designing mechanical systems, making things work and move, and seeing your creation come to life, then Adom is the place for you.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or show an equivalent aptitude in mechanical engineering through projects you can showcase to us that reveal your own creative process to bring a mechanical system to life
  • Knowledge of CAD software such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Inventor, or OnShape
  • Experience with building and assembling mechanical systems including stepper motors, BLDC/PMSM motors, sensors, linear rails, radial and thrust bearings, heat management, 3D printing and prototyping plastic and metal, CNC machining, injection molding, and material conductivity is greatly preferred
  • Proficiency in designing systems that can operate at high reliability for production workflows, while also taking into consideration cost of production

Adom is looking for software engineers. Your electronics workbench is in need of a revolution. To make your workbench of the future hum, we need great software to drive it. The way great software gets built has changed: our engineers vibe code alongside AI, producing 100x the output of the old way of working. If you've figured out how to make AI coding tools sing (and you know enough to catch them when they're wrong) then Adom is your kind of company.

Two Kinds of Software, Two Kinds of Engineers

Software at Adom lives in two very different worlds, and we're hiring for both. Tell us in your application which one is home for you, or if you move comfortably between the two.

Embedded software. Firmware, device drivers, real-time control systems, and embedded Linux: the code that talks directly to sensors, power electronics, and microcontrollers, written in Rust and C/C++, plus data analysis in Python. It's the domain where an experienced eye matters most. AI tools will happily invent a register map or hallucinate a timing constraint, and on hardware the compiler won't always save you. Sometimes the only error message is a bricked board. Embedded engineers here pair AI speed with datasheet-level rigor: reading schematics, reasoning about memory and timing, and verifying on real hardware.

Application software. Backend services in Rust, cross-platform desktop applications in Rust and Typescript, web frontend development in Typescript, and Python for internal tooling. It's where vibe coding hits top speed: fast iteration loops, quick feedback, and room to let AI generate whole features while you steer architecture, review the output, and keep the product coherent as it grows.

Qualifications

  • Degree in computer science (or equivalent), or be self-taught and show impressive results of your own software projects. We believe people who love building tend to have their own passion projects. We want to see them.
  • A real background in software engineering. Not because we'll ask you to hand-write everything, but because experience is what lets you tell when the AI is confidently making things up. You should be able to read, review, and reason about code in the languages we use. Rust runs all across our stack, alongside C/C++, Typescript, and Python.
  • You're an AI-whisperer. You've developed real skill at prompting, steering, and iterating with AI coding tools, and you know how to turn that into shipped, working software.
  • Familiarity with Git (and GitHub) and experience using it for team collaboration
  • Familiarity with Docker containers and virtualization
  • Familiarity with Linux and the terminal
  • Knowledge of the array of databases available these days, and the ability to pick the right tool for the right task

Robotics Engineer

Adom is looking for robotics engineers. What do we mean by that? To us, a robotics engineer is somebody who knows how to combine mechanical with electrical and software engineering. In other words, robotics engineers are a 1+1+1=10 kind of person. These are people who have digested all of the unique traits of each skill set and are able to merge these 3 skills into one superpower: a robotics engineer.

Qualifications

  • Ability to design mechanical parts in 3D CAD (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Onshape, or similar) with the tolerances and material choices appropriate for machining, molding, or 3D printing
  • Experience taking electronics from schematic capture through PCB layout (in Fusion 360 Electronics, KiCad, Altium, or similar) for motor drivers, power electronics, and sensor circuits
  • Experience designing motion systems built on bearings, belts, leadscrews, linear rails, and gearboxes, with the judgment to pick the right mechanism and actuator for the job
  • Knowledge of motor control via electronics being driven from a software stack, including stepper and servo drivers, encoders, and closed-loop feedback
  • A working understanding of kinematics and dynamics, deep enough to reason about torque, inertia, backlash, and resonance in a multi-axis system
  • Comfort at the bench with an oscilloscope, multimeter, and soldering iron, and the patience to debug an electro-mechanical system where the fault could be in the mechanics, the electronics, or the firmware
